Thanksgiving Day Began with a Surprise.
This year a friend and I decided to share the cooking duties and create the Thanksgiving meal while we watched the Macy’s parade on the big screen TV. Two women in the kitchen when one is almost dancing with excitement is an adventure in dodge and cook.
“I have a surprise,” Shirley announced almost the minute she arrived.
I wasn’t allowed to ask questions. She wasn’t parting with any hints either. We shared the things we were thankful for as we cooked and laughed about some of list. Thankfully, no pun intended, the meal got to the table with no mishaps. We ate too much. We decided dessert could wait. Another thing to be thankful for. Now, for the big moment.
Surprise!!
Shirley is an artist, a darn good one in my opinion. She also is a reader and a fan. She loves a certain character in one of my series. As it happens, Felicity is a favorite of mine and the reason I began the Truth Series. Book One Truth Kills is the beginning for Felicity. With those facts in mind, Shirley painted this using the cover as her source of inspiration. Both are pictured here.
I loved it and I have no idea how she got the canvas in the house without me seeing her do it. It was even sitting at the table with us in a vacant chair. Maybe I need new glasses?
Check out the signature. My very own Nott original. Thanks Shirley.
