When Spring Comes Knocking, The Live Oak Series Starts Rocking
I love all the seasons on the Farm. Every one has its own rhythm. Spring comes this year when I am working on the latest book of the Live Oak Series. Every living thing is just waiting impatiently for me to get busy so I took two weeks sort of off–meaning I write at night rather than in the morning–to get things ready to bloom.
The first order of business was revamping my raised beds. The first version was okay but this new edition is great. The seeds went in last week on three of the beds and one had small plants from the nursery. With the new irrigation, it only takes about ten minutes of watering every morning for the optimum amount of moisture for good growth.
I love checking the beds every day to see the progress. This is going to be a year round setup. I still have to build the roof over so that I can easily turn it into a greenhouse when the temperatures drop. Can’t wait to try that part out.
Progress on Hidden Fire
Because of the schedule I’m keeping, the progress on Hidden Fire Book 6 of the Live Oak Series is a little slower than usual.
Plus, I had an interesting development on an update. The darn thing ate all of my margins and I didn’t notice because I was writing late at night when my slice of the universe quieted. It was taking forever to finish a page. Knew I was tired so I figured that was the reason.
Wrong! The margins were non-existent. Every page was actually two pages long. Yea!!!
I corrected the margins and instantly had double my page count. Now the large word count made sense. So, I am about one third of the way finished with the first draft of Hidden Fire.
This is Tina’s story. You first met her in Strike the Fire, Book 3 of the Live Oak Series. She and her friend Jennifer have started an event planning business, Celebrations Your Way. Jennifer has always been the risk taker. Tina has always been the rule follower. Suddenly, Tina is seeing herself through new eyes.
Trey calls her Gypsy. The bold, the brilliant woman he sees is both scary and exciting. More it is a challenge she can not resist. I can’t wait to see what these two do next.
