Cool Weather Coming, Cozy Romance Time is Here.
Finally, the tiniest hint of coolness here in Florida. Wonderful, since I spent hours working on the Enhanced Reprint version of Thirteen Days of Luck, Book 3 of the Pippa Series. I’ve had a number of requests in the last few months about this book being reissued. Autumn seemed the perfect time for making that happen.
Pippa is one of my favorite characters, both then and now. Years have passed since I first met her in my imagination. She broke every rule of category romance that existed in New York at the time. Women were not leads in romance books when they were forty. Women did not refuse to consider marriage as the only answer to loving a man.
If I had been a rule follower myself, I wouldn’t have finished the first chapter because I knew the companies I published with would not easily swallow Pippa’s age. My agent knew it as well. I wrote the books anyway because Pippa just had to have her story told. My agent and I were right. New York loved Pippa as long as I made her younger. Pippa and I agreed, NOT going to happen. My agent sent the three books to a new company with new ideas for the romance market.
Pippa and her family found their home at Meteor.
She was so popular that the first three books were boxed for Christmas with a bonus stand alone book. My first boxed set, a special treat for any writer! Her adventures continued in popularity bringing in the McGuires and introducing two other characters over forty. Trend setting Pippa started yet another trend along with addressing a couple of hot topics in the series. I had such fun with Pippa. I hope you enjoy her too. Because of page length restrictions then, I had to leave out a few details.
The advantage of self publishing now allows me to ignore page length and just write. Thirteen Nights of Luck is longer than the original Thirteen Days of Luck. With Luck, my fingers crossed on this one, Pippa and company will be available in October. I will keep you posted on the release date.
What will the new cover look like? You will have to come back and see…
